A total of 62,94,465 children were administered polio drops on Sunday covering 85.77% of children below five years across the state who ought to be immunised.
Sunday was the first day of the second round of this year’s pulse polio campaign. On the first day, children were immunised at designated booths across the state. This will be followed by a three-day house visit in the urban areas and two days in the rural areas.
Minimum compliance was reported from the BBMP limits with just 65.05% children being immunised on day one, as per statistics available with the Department of Health and Family Welfare. At 96.15, Ballari district reported the highest percentage of children covered.
