But late on Sunday night, the Cubbon Park police put brakes on Gowda’s excesses by arresting him.
The 40-year-old rowdy sheeter in High Grounds police station, along with his associates barged into Desmond’s Hotel, demanding liquor, food and cash. Before the hotel management could realise what was happening, the gang attacked a few people and injured them. On a tip-off, police swung into action and arrested him.
Cases of assault and other crimes have been booked against Gowda and he has been sent to judicial custody. A number of cases have been filed against him at High Grounds, Chandra Layout and Jeevanbima Nagar police stations.
