Six nabbed for shoving cop

Six persons, who claimed themselves to be supporters of an Andhra Pradesh MLA, were arrested on the charge of verbally abusing and pushing a traffic sub-inspector and a constable who stopped their sports utility vehicle (SUV) for 'overspeeding' and asked them to pay fine, police said.

The six,  who hail from Andhra Pradesh have been booked by Chikkajala police for obstructing government official from discharging his duty, police sources said. They were arrested on the basis of the complaint filed the SI, Ramachandra Bhajantri.

"The accused who claim to be supporters of MLA from Andhra Pradesh, Madhusudan Gupta were proceeding in their vehicle to visit the legislator who is under treatment in a super speciality hospital here when they were stopped by the PSI for overspeeding", police said.
