Over 300 students of 34 different nationalities celebrated Deepavali at Stonehill International School. An Embassy Group’s initiative, the international school hosted a unique mela which was attended by nearly 300  students and their parents including teachers.  This was the first of its kind festival celebration and was aimed at promoting unity in diversity.

 It was also in line with the school’s objective of encouraging students to be a part of different festivals.

The children, their parents and teachers were clad in colourful Indian clothes and took part in the various cultural events held as part of the celebrations.

The cultural programmes included various dances, songs and fashion show and a play that depicted the story of ‘Ramayana’ which was beautifully performed by expat kids, their parents and teachers. This was followed by lunch in which delicious Indian delicacies were
served.

Jitu Virwani, Chairman and Managing Director, Embassy Group, said, “The festival is all about colours, happiness, sweets and lights. We are very pleased at the turnout and the enthusiasm of the expat students and their parents at the school. We aim at celebrating every culture at our school.”
