Civic workers working for the BBMP claimed that the Palike has not settled their bills for the past two months.

During a press meet on Friday, the workers, who asphalt roads, fill potholes and build storm water drains, said there has been no improvement in the situation despite several requests to BBMP commissioner N Manjunath Prasad and Mayor R Sampath Raj.

"We will stop the work if they do not pay our wages, and we will stage a protest at the BBMP head office at Hudson Circle on Thursday. If they do not fulfill our demands, we will stall all ongoing works," said K T Manjunath, chairman, BBMP contractors' association.
