From now on, the vehicle, whose insurance does not cover the third-party liability, will be seized.

Transport Commissioner B Dayananda said that the regional transport office (RTO), along with traffic police, will enforce the rule to ensure that the insurance covers the accident victims.

"The enforcement is in line with the suggestions made by the Supreme Court-appointed committee on the road safety," he said.

The rule is already in force, and its enforcement will be more stronger in the days to come, the RTO officials said.
