The sudden strike by Bisi-Oota workers all over the state, and their subsequent absence from work, has forced  the teachers of some of the Chitradurga schools to multi-task as cooks.

At the city girls' government PUC college, the teachers cooked the midday meal. In this college which has 500 students, the five regular cooks are busy protesting for various demands, in Bengaluru on Thursday.

At Madakari Nayaka Vidya Samsthe, teachers have cooked lunch by taking help of peons. In some educational institutions, the students have also helped teachers cook.

In other places in the district two to three of the Bisi-Oota workers have stayed back without attending the strike. In such places there are no problems created.

In the City Fort High School, students have been sent home because there is no one to cook the midday meal.

Suffice to say, that the bisi-oota workers' strike has had the intended detrimental effect and upset the midday meal scheme.

It's effect is bad enough to draw the government's attention to the demands of the bisi-oota workers.
