State Congress president G Parameshwara on Monday accused the BJP of trying to mislead people of the State on the issue of denotification of Bangalore Development Authority (BDA) lands at Arkavathi Layout.

Speaking after hoisting the National Flag at KPCC office on Queen’s Road, he charged the BJP with trying to politicise the issue. Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has not taken any illegal decision. All decisions are taken as per court orders, he added.

Any individual or organisation, including the BJP, is free to submit documents pertaining to the issue to the Justice Kempanna Commission which is probing into the issue. Instead, the BJP leaders are trying to mislead people. The Commission has received 59 complaints. But the BJP has not bothered to go before it, he added.

Democracy is under threat. Certain vested interests are conspiring to divide the country in the name of caste and religion. Tough action should be initiated against forces that try to stir harmony in society, he said and added that only the Congress can take all sections together.
