The burglars who struck at the SBI branch on Wednesday, gained entry by cutting the window bars. They cut the power supply to the CCTV camera thereby disabling the device.

They have tried to pry open the vault with crowbars, but failed to do it. So they have escaped empty handed.

The bank staff got to know of the attempted burglary when they entered the branch the next morning. Fingerprint experts and the dog squad visited the scene of the crime looking for clues.

Tilak Park police have registered the case and are investigating. The additional superintendent of police visited the spot and gathered information from the bank staff.
