During a grievances meet held recently, residents complained to the DySP that the buses have not been coming to the stand at all. Retaliating this, the bus owners had said that it is due to lack of facilities at the stand that they opt not to go there. During the meet, police assured the residents to clean up the bus stand and take steps to see to it that the buses come to the stand.
Gram Panchayat on the other hand took it up as a challenge and cleaned the stand at a cost of Rs 50,000. With the bus stand flaunting a new look, the buses started coming to the stand from Friday onwards.
The local residents have said that this has helped the people in general and the students in particular. Systematic parking facilities in the stand is also expected to solve the traffic snarls to some extent.
