Chief Minister Jagadish Shettar on Tuesday said that he will lead an all-party delegation to New Delhi to urge the Union government not to notify the Cauvery River Water Disputes Tribunal award.

“We are in touch with the Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) and are waiting for an appointment. Once it is fixed, the delegation will go to Delhi,” Shettar told reporters.

On the amendment to the Cow Slaughter Prevention Bill, the chief minister noted that the opposition, instead of debating the issue, had simply walked out of the House.

The Bill, which has been passed in the Legislature, now  needs to be approved by Governor Bharadwaj, he explained.

On the Jamma Bane issue in Kodagu, Shettar asked the Union government to approve the amendment Bill which has been sent by the governor.
