Speaking after inaugurating ‘Vruksharopana’ campaign initiated by the Forest Department at Bondel near here on Thursday, he regretted that trees are being felled for developmental works.
Plans are on the anvil to plant as many as 20 lakh saplings as a part of the campaign in Dakshina Kannada district, he informed.
DCF Shanthappa, ACF Raviraj, AC Prabhulinga Kavalakatti, Mayor Shankar Bhat and Leader of Opposition in MCC Harinath among others were prsent.
