The 122nd deputy commissioner of Dakshina Kannada district, Dr N S Channappa Gowda, who had taken charge on May 16, 2011, has been transferred. He will assume charge as the Director (Personnel and Environment), KSRTC, Bangalore.
During his stint in the district, he had successfully organised the national-level Yuvajanotsava among other mega projects.
An easy to approach officer, Dr Gowda was keen on implementing a total ban on plastic in the district.
N Prakash, presently the Director (Personnel & Environment), KSRTC, Bangalore, has been transferred as the new deputy commissioner of the district.
