Following a Supreme Court directive, a team from Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI), probing the suicide of DySP M K Ganapathi, visited the local Vinayaka Lodge on Tuesday where he had allegedly committed suicide.

The experts recovered one of the three bullets reportedly fired by the DySP before he ended his life.

The team, led by investigation officer Thalaimani, visited the lodge at 10 am and took the statements of the staff at the lodge. The forensic experts from Delhi opened room number 315 of the lodge and verified the fan and bed.

During their investigation, forensic experts recovered one bullet from the bed in the room occupied by the DySP. It was reported that before committing suicide, he had allegedly fired thrice on the bed using his revolver.

They also met Inspector Medappa, SI Bharath and Dr Shailaja who had conducted a post-mortem at the district hospital. The officials also collected the required documents and statements from Ganapathi's brother M K Machaiah and witnesses Belliappa and Jagan.

The team is yet to speak to the private TV channel whom Ganapathi had given an interview before committing suicide.
