National president of the Janata Dal (Secular) H D Deve Gowda has said he will quit from active politics, if the Congress or the BJP comes to power on their own in the coming Lok Sabha elections.
Speaking at a function organised to welcome former BJP and KJP member Shivananda Naik, the former prime minister said the Third Front would come to power in the Lok Sabha polls. Both the Congress and the BJP do not have the guts to announce that they will come to power on their own, he said.
Meanwhile, Shivananda Naik said his first task after joining the JD(S) is to strengthen the party cadre in Uttara Kannada district. On February 14, the party will hold a mega rally in Kumta as a show of strength, he said.
