The High Court of Karnataka on Thursday granted stay on the summons issued by the Special Lokayukta court, Mysuru, to Sunil Bose, son of  Public Works Minister H C Mahadevappa in a bribery case.

Justice Rathnakala granted stay on the summons that were issued to Bose to appear before the Lokayukta court on September 26 to record the evidence.

The case is with regard to Alphonse, an official of the Department of Mines and Geology, who was caught red-handed while receiving a bribe of Rs 1 lakh.

During the investigation, he stated that he took the money on behalf of Bose.

However, after three years, while submitting the charge sheet, only Alphonso was charged with the crime, while Bose and his associate Raju were left out.

The complainant Basavaraju, who worked as manager with Nandakrishna, who runs a sand transport firm, took objection to it and moved the court.

He sought directions to add both Bose and Raju as additional accused. Thereafter, the special court summoned them to appear before the court.
