Liquid waste discharged from the hospital is directly let into the open fields converting it into a breeding ground for mosquitoes. As a result students at Lion’s School which is adjacent to the hospital are exposed to serious health problems.

Dixit, a third standard student and Raksha, a UKG students who are infected with dengue are being treated in Shimoga. Five students of the school are suffering from viral fever and another student has been unable to attend classes due gastroenteritis. The situation is so worse that mosquito coils are used in classrooms.

Also, patients at the hospital are forced to tolerate the stench from the liquid waste as well as mosquito menace.
