Congress leader Siddaramaiah has found a reason as to why Tamil Nadu Chief Minister J Jayalalitha is “adamant” when it comes to getting her State’s share of the Cauvery river water.

“She is most unreasonable, probably because she is unmarried,” he said, during a discussion on the Cauvery water issue in the Legislative Assembly.

The comment came after Siddaramaiah exhausted all means to get a clear reply from the chief minister as to what his decision would be on the Supreme Court direction.

“Jayalalitha is most unreasonable. Whenever she is in power, we face the problem. She should have understood our problems too. We are facing a drought for the last two years.

But the State government is giving an impression that it is making preparations to release water. However, Karunanidhi was reasonable,” he said.

Supporting Siddaramaiah, C S Puttaraju (JD-S) added that though Jayalalitha had been born in Melkote of Mandya district she had never visited the town after leaving there.
