The Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation (KSRTC) has slashed the fares of its premium services by 10 per cent for three months.

The cut in fares is applicable to passengers of Rajahamsa, Vybhav, Airavat, Multi Axle, AC sleeper, Non-AC sleeper, Bliss and Superia buses, between July 1 and September 30.

Further, the fares have also been reduced by another 10 per cent (basic fare) for the passengers travelling by these buses on Mondays, Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays. The KSRTC officials said that the fare cut was a routine exercise since there was less demand during the month of Aashadha.

The Corporation has been conferred with India Bus Award for its innovative project ‘Staff Duty Rota System’ under the category ‘Excellence in Employee Welfare.’ The Intelligent Transport System in Mysuru has won the award under the category ‘Excellence in Bus Transport Service in India.’

Diwakar Roante, Minister for Transport, Government of Maharashtra, gave the award to Rajender Kumar Kataria, Managing Director, KSRTC.
