Land grant: CM refutes Puttaswamy's charges

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah, on Monday, refuted the allegations against his son Dr Yathindra Siddaramaiah by BJP leader B J Puttaswamy.

Puttaswamy had alleged that the CM has misused power in allotting two acres of land to Shanthala Industries at Kethamaranahalli in Bengaluru, owned by Dr Yathindra.

Siddaramaiah said, he should produce documents to prove his allegations. "His allegations are baseless. Puttaswamy had claimed that he would commit suicide in front of Vidhana Soudha if his allegations are false. He has failed to produce the documents, so what should he do now? We should not ask him to take the extreme step,” he said.

On a mob attacking a techie, who had filed a police complaint against cow slaughter, Siddaramaiah said, “We will take appropriate action in this regard,” the CM said.

Cloud-seeding not responsible for downpour: CM

Siddaramaiah said, the heavy rains in the city are not a result of cloud-seeding. During his visit to a house in Paduvarahalli to assess the flood situation, a resident alleged that cloud-seeding has caused havoc.

The CM said, cloud-seeding was done in Yadgir and Gadag. “We have not done seeding in Bengaluru. This time Bengaluru received a record rainfall in the last 110 years and Kurubarahalli Layout was not properly planned and thus it was flooded," he said.
