MLC M A Gopalaswamy on Saturday said that the works on erecting the attic behind the monolithic statue of Bahubali for the celebration of Mahamastakabhisheka in Shravanabelagola, scheduled to be held from February 7 to 26, 2018, will be completed by January first week.

The MLC was speaking to reporters after inspecting the ongoing works at Vindyagiri here. Gopalaswamy said, the works are progressing at a fast pace and the officials concerned have confirmed that the works on erecting attic will be completed by January first week.

The materials used for attic is anti-rust and the authorities have taken precautionary measures to prevent electric short circuit. 70% of the works have been completed and 6,000 people can watch the Mahamastakabhisheka at a time, he informed.
