A video of MP Nalin Kumar Kateel threatening police for detaining the BJP workers—who had come to take part in Mangaluru Chalo and were kept in a hall—went viral on Thursday.

As a precautionary measure, the police had detained the party workers at Kadri Gorakshanatha hall. Kateel, after taking part in the protest, went to Kadri Police Station and threatened inspector Maruthi G Nayak and other police staff. BJP Mahila Morcha state president Bharathi Shetty accompanied the MP.

The MP expressed displeasure at the detention of the BJP workers. The video footage shows the inspector stating that the arrested will be released after filing an FIR. Enraged MP is seen threatening to call for a DK bandh. When inspector Maruthi tried to speak to a higher officer, the MP was seen hitting the table and threatening him.
