'Naxal sympathiser' acquitted

The District Additional Court in its judgement on Saturday, has acquitted Angadi Chandru from Mudigere who was accused of being a Naxal sympathiser.

There were two separate cases against him.

Angadi Chandru was arrested in connection with two cases related to distribution of pamphlets in support of naxals and possessing a packet with five gelatin sticks and explosives. The two cases were filed separately on July 29, 2008 and March 27, 2009.

Mudigere town police had conducted an inquiry and filed a charge sheet in the court. District Additional Court Judge S B Vasthramutt acquitted the accused owing to lack of evidence.
