Former MP and JD(S) leader A H Vishwanath sought to know why Kannada Sahitya Parishat district unit president Y D Rajanna did not extend an invitation to him for the 83rd All India Kannada Sahitya Sammelan which was held in the city recently.
At a programme organised by District Kannada Chaluvaligarara Sangha on Sunday to mark Kannada Rajyotsava, Vishwanath said that, "I have brought out seven books and am identified in the field of literature. I also served as Kannada and Culture minister but in spite of all these, the organisers did not extend an invitation to me."
In his reply, Rajanna said that Vishwanath had participated in sessions in the Sammelan held at Raichur. "We provide an opportunity to a person only once in three years," Rajanna said.
