Writer K Omkarappa has been selected as the president of the District Kannada Literary Convention.
His name was unanimously supported for the chair of the literary convention, by the meeting convened by Kannada Sahitya Parishat district president Kunduru Ashok at Sakharayapattana.
Omkarappa is a former professor of Kannada from STJ College. He has 20 works to his credit including several poetry collections. He has been honoured with District Rajyotsava Award, Kumaravyasa, Sahityashree and Sharanashree awards.
The literary convention will be held in Sakharayapattana on December 8 and 9.
