Members of various organisations took out a rally on Friday to protest against Congress Vice-President Rahul Gandhi’s two-day visit to the State.

The protestors gathered in front of the Gandhi Statue near Anand Rao Circle around 1 pm and raised slogans against him and the Congress party. They urged him to go back to New Delhi.

Meanwhile, over 70 protestors were taken into preventive custody and were sent to the CAR Ground in Adugodi as a precautionary measure.  The police also thwarted  protesters’ efforts to picket stones near Kumara Krupa guest house where Rahul Gandhi was scheduled to stay.
