Monsoon was active in a few parts of the state on Friday.


Heavy rain, accompanied by gusty winds, lashed a few villages of Kampli taluk in Ballari district in the evening. For the last few days, monsoon was inactive in the district. The rainfall has brought cheers to the farmers who have now enthusiastically begun sowing activities in their fields. They were seen preparing the fields for the kharif crops.

Moderate rain lashed various parts of Shivamogga district on Friday. Shivamogga, Thirthahalli, Bhadravathi and Sagar received moderate rain intermittently. Heavy rain lashed Hosanagar in the evening. There is no drastic rise in the inflow of water to the Linganamakki dam.


It drizzled in several parts of Haveri district for some time, while dank weather prevailed throughout the day. Rain lashed Kalaburagi city and the surrounding areas on Friday evening for half an hour.

Several parts of Uttara Kannada district received moderate rainfall. While it rained for more than an hour in Karwar, it drizzled for some time in Kumta, Haliyal, Mundgod, Yellapur and Bhatkal.


 In the last 24 hours the district has received an average of 47 mm of rainfall. Ankola has received 10 mm of rainfall, Haliyal has received 3.4 mm of rainfall, Honnavar - 2.2 mm, Karwar - 11.2 mm, Kumta - 2 mm, Mundgod - 3.0 mm, Siddapur - 0.8 mm, Sirsi - 5 mm, Joida - 6 mm and Yellapur has received 8 mm of rainfall.
