Rajasthan Chief Minister Vasundhara Raje Scindia on Monday visited Kollur Mookambika Temple in Kundapur taluk, Udupi district and offered special prayers.

Raje, along with her son, arrived in Mangaluru from Bengaluru by a special flight. From there, she came to Areshirur near Kollur by helicopter.

The police had strengthened security around the temple during her visit. As a result, the entry of devotees inside the temple was prohibited from 10 am. Several devotees returned without having darshan of the deity.

Temple administrative committee president Harish Kumar Shetty, in charge CEO Janardhan, district BJP president Mattar Ratnakar Hegde and others were present with Vasundhara.

The Rajasthan chief minister and her son later visited Udupi Krishna Mutt, had darshan of the deity and sought blessings from Paryaya Pejawar seer Vishveshateertha Swami.
