Urging the government for fulfilment of various demands, the members of Rajya Raitha Sangha and Hasiru Sene staged protest and observed black day at Mahatma Gandhi Park in Chikkamagaluru on Tuesday.

The protesters shouted slogans against the district administration.

Payment to contractor
The protesters said that the officials are trying to bury the case pertaining to payment to contractor without taking up the work on removing silt in a lake during 2010-11.

They said that though the revenue officials had asked the government to file a criminal case against those who had encroached the crematorium land on survey number 173 at Koloor, no action has been initiated so far.

Rajya Raitha Sangha vice president M Manjunath said that no one has been responding to the woes of the farmers.
