Report on groundwater contamination sought

The High Court has directed the State government, Bruhat Bangalore Mahanagara Palike (BBMP) and the Bangalore Water Supply and Sewerage Board (BWSSB) to discuss about supplying drinking water to the areas where the ground water has been contaminated.

During the hearing of a suo motu petition taken up on the basis of a newspaper report, the Division Bench comprising Chief Justice D H Waghela and Justice said the agencies should report on the solution by the next date of hearing.

Plea dismissed

The High Court has dismissed a petition by a City-based realtor seeking action against Bangalore Metropolitan Task Force (BMTF) chief R P Sharma. 

Alex, who has been booked for encroaching upon a stormwater drain has approached the court seeking dismissal of Sharma claiming that the latter acted with malafide intention.
However, Justice Anand Byrareddy dismissed the petition.
