Rivers in Dakshina Kannada district have swollen following heavy rain on Saturday night.

In the last 24 hours, Bantwal taluk received 91.3 mm rainfall followed by Belthangady 75.9 mm, Puttur 68 mm, Mangaluru 50.4 mm and Sullia 36 mm. Water levels in all the rivers - Phalguni, Kumaradhara and Nethravathi - have gone up.

A man suffered injuries when a tree fell on the two-wheeler which he was riding, on Beeri-Deralakatte Road on Sunday. The injured is Avinash Madooru (28).

Kodagu district experienced heavy rain on Sunday. Rain pounded Madikeri, Napoklu, Bhagamandala, Karike, Appangala, Yaravanadu and Siddapura. In the last 24 hours, the district received an average of 23.5 mm rainfall.

The water level in Harangi reservoir stood at 2,816.29 feet against the maximum capacity of 2,859 feet. The inflow of water was 680 cusecs.

Shivamogga district received moderate rain. There were reports of copious rain in Theerthahalli and Hosanagar while there was light rain in Sagar, Shikaripur and Bhadravathi taluks.

Various parts of Uttara Kannada district received rain. It rained heavily in Karwar,Kumta, Honnavar, Ankola and Yellapur, intermittently.
