BJP national general secretary in-charge Karnataka P Muralidhar Rao, party state president B S Yeddyurappa, Union Minister D V Sadananda Gowda are taken out in a procession ahead of the Parivarthana rally in Gauribidanur, Chikkaballapur district, on Friday.

Union Minister for Statistics and Programme implementation D V Sadananda Gowda on Friday accused Chief Minister Siddaramaiah of adding fuel to fire on Mahadayi river water sharing issue.

Addressing the Parivarthana Yatra rally in Gauribidanur, Sadananda Gowda said, "Siddaramaiah has this habit of lighting up a beedi from a house blaze. He is making sure that the Mahadayi issue remains unsettled with the help of the Congmen in Goa. By doing so, he is cheating the farmers," the Union minister said.

"If Siddaramaiah was keen on resolving Mahadayi water sharing issue, he would have responded to the letter written by his Goa counterpart Manohar Parrikar. Had I been the chief minister in such situation, I would have led a state's delegation to Goa and work out a solution," Sadananda Gowda said.

"Siddaramaiah is feeling insecure. Fear of losing power has made him arrogant. He should watch his words while speaking on public forums. This is not done for a man who has prasented 11 budgets in the state," Sadananda Gowda said.

He said, "BJP's Mission 150 is still on. As elections heat up, our (BJP) numbers will swell."

Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of the rally, Sadananda Gowda said, "Siddaramaiah has the habit of looking things with jaundiced eyes. He has brought disrepute to the chief minister's post. People of the state are unhappy with the Congress government's style of functioning. They will vote the BJP to power with a resounding majority," he said.
