The Akhila Karnataka Yuva Kuruba Okkoota has come into existence for the welfare of Kuruba community across Karnataka.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s son Dr Yathindra inaugurated the Okkoota at Central College auditorium on Sunday.

“Kuruba community youths should work in the fields of education, politics, administration, media and business and scale heights. Making progress in these fields is very crucial for the overall development of the community,” Yathindra added.

A unit should be set up to train community members willing to enter politics, he suggested.

Former mayor and BJP leader M Shanthakumari said senior officials from the community should change their style of functioning and speedly dispose of files pertaining to all communities.

Dr Yathindra also launched the Okkoota’s website on the occasion.
