The need of the hour is to conserve environment and check the migration of animals and birds, Nithyananda Shetty Baidyaru said.

He was speaking as a resource person at a sparrow bird nest awareness programme at Kadthalabettu Government Higher Primary School at Mavinakatte in Bantwal taluk.

Stating that it is our responsibility to create awareness on the flora and fauna that are on the verge of getting extinct, he said that he has been visiting various schools in the taluk to distribute sparrow nest made of clay and water bowl free of cost and provide a demonstration on placing sparrow nests.

Progressive farmer M Keshavaiah and resource person Ramya said an imbalance occurs when one goes against nature.

A sparrow nest and a water bowl was placed in a tree in the school premises on the occasion. Children enthusiastically participated in the awareness programme.
