Teenage girl dies of snake bite in city

The victim has been identified as Kalavathi (14), daughter of Arathi and Raju residing in a slum at Gokulam III Stage here.

According to family members, Kalavathi had been out to answer nature’s call in the midnight on Sunday.

She returned to sleep and began writhing in pain after a few hours.

She was admitted to K R Hospital and doctors declared her brought dead.

The family suspects snake bite to be the cause of death of the girl.

V V Puram police have registered a case of unnatural death.

Jewellery stolen

Miscreants broke into a house and decamped with 125 grams gold jewellery worth Rs 2.5 lakh in Vani Vilas Mohalla in Mysore on the early hours of Monday.

The incident happened at the residence of Rajesh. According to police, Rajesh and his family members visited their relative’s home in N R Mohalla last night. On arrival on Monday morning, they found the front door broken. The thieves had ransacked the house and almirah and made away with the jewellery.
