A 19-year-old youth died while swimming at Mangala swimming pool in Mangaluru on Sunday.
According to DCP Law and Order Hanumantharaya, the deceased is Yagnesh, son of Bhaskar, a resident of Maroli.
Yagnesh had gone to swim with his friends at around 5.30 pm. While swimming, he told his friends that he felt tired and giddy.
He was immediately moved out of the pool and rushed to a hospital, where he was declared brought dead.
Based on a complaint filed by his father, Bhaskar, the police have registered a case of unnatural death at Barke police station.
