Three persons were killed on the spot after the car in which they were travelling rammed into a bridge parapet near Chachadi-Harugopp Cross on Belgaum-Bagalkot Road at Saundatti taluk in the early hours of Thursday.
The deceased, Sritaji Jagannath Nanduri, Shashank Hargopal Malladi and Prithvi Srinivas, are all residents of Hyderabad.
According to the police, the trio were travelling towards Hyderabad in a car bearing registration number AP 09 CU 8449.
The impact of the collision was such that all the three died on the spot and the vehicle was badly damaged. The Murgod police have registered a case.
The accident led to traffic snarls on the busy Belgaum-Bagalkot state highway.
