BJP president Amit Shah on Thursday compared the NDA government at the Centre to a power station and the Congress government in Karnataka to a burnt transformer.

This, he said, was a major impediment in the transfer of power (resources) from the Centre to the state. Shah called upon the voters to get rid of such a government and replace it with a BJP dispensation under B S Yeddyurappa.

The BJP chief was addressing the gathering at the 'Mushti Dhanya Abhiyana' (fistful of rice) campaign organised by the party at Abbigere in Ron taluk of the district.

"A total of 3,500 farmers committed suicide in the state ever since Siddaramaiah became chief minister. But the chief minister happily wears a Rs 40-lakh watch. The Centre has released enough funds for irrigation projects. But the farmers could not benefit from it as those in power could not decide on the percentage of cuts for themselves," he said.

He warned Siddaramaiah that the time for him to "go home" had come.
