Chairperson of the Centre for Economics, Environment and Society, Bengaluru, Professor K N Ninan has been selected as the Co-Chair of an assessment group constituted by the Inter-governmental platform on Biodiversity and Ecosystem Services (IPBES), United Nations.
Ninan, an ecological economist has been a visiting professor in many international universities.
The assessment group is tasked with preparing a report on the use of scenarios for undertaking environmental assessments and advise the government on measures to combat loss of biodiversity and ecosystem services.
