When done, Pavagada solar park to add 2000 MW to state grid

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah inaugurated the 600 MW first stage of the Shakti Sthala solar park at Nagalamadike hobli, Pavagada taluk, Tumakuru district on Thursday.  

The solar park spreads over Rayacherlu, Tirumani, Balasamudra, Valluru, Kythaganacherlu villages and has a total generation capacity of 2000 MW. The construction of the second stage of the park is underway.  

The generation has been outsourced to six companies. According to Karnataka Solar Power Development Corporation (KSPDCL) CEO D Nagaraju they are:

Adani Power Limited: 150 MW

Tata Power Company Limited: 150 MW

Fortum Power Solutions: 100 MW

Acme Solar: 100 MW

Yaro Power: 50 MW

ReNew Power: 50 MW

Union Power Minister Rajkumar Singh, district in-charge minister T B Jayachandra, Energy Minister D K Shivakumar, B S Patil,   chairman,  Karnataka Renewable Energy Development Ltd. were present.
