Anushka Jain was playing with her friends in her Aradhana building compound when the Scorpio vehicle, driven by Raju Chandrashekhar Pratap (37), ran over her.
The driver fled the scene after the incident, police said, adding the vehicle belongs to a businessman Boralal Jain, who resides in the same building.
Anushka was rushed to a nearby hospital where doctors declared her brought dead. Her father Nilesh Jain owns a hardware and a jewellery shop in Malad.
"A case of causing death due to rash and negligent driving has been registered against the driver," said a police officer.
