A 22-year-old woman from Meghalaya was stabbed to death by a man at the M G Road station of the Delhi Metro network here on Monday.

Officials said the incident occurred around 9:30 am in the gallery area of the station.

They said the suspect, identified as 25-year-old Jitendra, used a knife to stab Pinky, who was married to a man from the Northeast.

Central Industrial Security Force (CISF) personnel and other Metro staffers rushed to the spot, which is at the entrance of the station.

“The incident took place in the unpaid area where there is no Central Industrial Security Force presence. Trains are operating as per schedule,” one of the officials said, adding that they were waiting for further details regarding the attacker.
