A woman teacher killed a class IV student with the help of her lover, the school bus driver, in Uttar Pradesh's Faizabad district for revealing details about her affair.

A source said that the child, also the teacher's distant relative, had told her parents about their affair.

Police said the child went missing on October 22. She had gone to school as usual but did not return.

Her decomposed body was recovered from a forested area in Kumarganj on Saturday.

The victim's family suspected the hands of the teacher and her lover, Anees, behind the sudden disappearance of the child.

The investigation pointed the needle of suspicion towards the teacher, who was absconding.

The teacher and Anees were apprehended from Faizabad railway station on Sunday when they alighted a train. They had fled to Gurugram, the police said.

During the interrogation, the teacher confessed that she was angry with the child and killed her with Anees's help.

They lured the child to a secluded place after school and strangled her to death. They then buried the body in a forested area.

Anees said he did not want to kill the child but the teacher insisted.
