India's Sania Mirza and her American partner Bob Bryan beat the American pair of Abigail Spears and Scott Lipsky 4-6, 6-1, 10-4 in the second round of mixed doubles here at the Australian Open Monday.

The third seeds will face Lucie Hradecka and Frantisek Cermak the Czech Republic in the quarterfinals next.

However, it was a bad day at the office for India's Mahesh Bhupathi and his Serbia-born Canadian partner Daniel Nestor, who lost their third round men's doubles match to unseeded Italians Simone Bolelli and Fabio Fognini.

The fifth seeds lost 3-6, 6-4, 3-6.
