“There is a line and you try not to cross it. It’s an area where I’m continuing to develop as a player and a person as well,” Watson was quoted as saying in Herald Sun. “It’s something I’ve got to work on. I am very passionate, but understand I have to channel that passion in the right way. What happened was raw emotion. I don’t plan anything that comes out of me,” he said.
Watson, however, was not ready to regret his over-the-top antics. “I’m not embarrassed. I’ve looked at the footage –– obviously it doesn’t look ideal, there’s no doubt about that,” Watson said. “It’s one of those things that happens on the cricket field when the game is on the line. Unfortunately I did celebrate a little bit too much that time,” Watson added.
