Karman Kaur Thandi fought hard but couldn’t succeed to close the matters against Korea’s Kim Dabin in the women’s singles semifinals of the $10,000 ITF tournament at the Delhi Lawn Tennis Association (DLTA) complex on Friday.

The 16-year-old Delhi girl, who came through the qualifying round, lost 4-6, 6-4, 6-7(1) in 2 hours and 29 minutes.

The final will now be played between Dabin and sixth-seeded Katherine IP of Hong Kong, who overpowered Kanami Tsuji of Japan 6-4, 7-5.

There was more joy in store for Dabin later in the day as she combining with Rutuja Bhosale of India won the doubles title. The fourth-seeded pair defeated second-seeded pair of Nidhi Chilumula of India and Sung-Hee Han of Korea 6-2, 7-6(2).

Results: (Singles semifinals, Indians unless mentioned): 6-IP Katherine (Hkg) bt Kanami Tsuji (Jpn) 6-4, 7-5; Dabin Kim (Kor) bt Karman Kaur Thandi 6-4, 4-6, 7-6(1).
