Mykola Azarov appointed new Ukraine PM

Earlier last week, Prime Minister Yulia Tymoshenko had lost a confidence vote when some of her allies sided with the party of Yanukovych, who had defeated her in the presidential run-off polls in February.

62-year-old Azarov, got the support of 242 lawmakers in the 450 strong Verkhovna Rada (Parliament), he required a minimum of 226 votes, RIA Novosti reported from Kiev.
Yanukovych earlier today formally proposed to parliament the candidacy of Azarov after the new parliamentary coalition nominated him for the post.

The new coalition has 235 deputies and comprises the Party of Regions, now temporarily led by Azarov, the Communists, the bloc of speaker Volodymyr Lytvyn and several independent deputies
