India’s P V Sindhu produced a stirring fightback to book her place in the final of the China Open Superseries Premier Badminton on Saturday.

Making full use of her height and reach, Sindhu rallied to beat sixth seed Sung Ji Hyun of South Korea 11-21, 23-21, 21-19 in the semifinals.

Sindhu saved three matchpoints in the second game to push the match into the decider, and despite weariness creeping in, she held on to emerge winner. Seeded seventh, Sindhu will play China’s Sun Yu in the final on Sunday.
