World's leading smartphone-maker Samsung on Monday (February 15) unveiled the Galaxy F62 in India.

The new mobile is a mid-range smartphone. It flaunts a new design language and comes packed with a massive battery. Samsung is offering the Galaxy F62 in two configuration-- 6GB RAM + 128GB storage and 8GB RAM + 128GB storage-- for Rs 23,999 and Rs 25,999, respectively. It will be available on Flipkart, Reliance Digital and My Jio retail stores, Samsung.com, and select retail stores from February 22 onwards.

Prior to the launch, DH received the Galaxy F62 Laser Blue model. Here are our initial thoughts on the new Samsung phone.

Design and display:
The Galaxy F62 sports a laser gradient design with visually appealing stripes on the back. The rear shell is really smooth and the device is a bit heavy, but can't complain as it comes packed with a mammoth 7,000mAh battery.

On the front, it features a 6.7-inch full HD+ (2400 x 1080p) Infinity-O Super AMOLED Plus 20:9 display with up to 420 nits brightness. It is really good for a phone priced under Rs 25K.

Processor+RAM+Storage+Battery

It comes packed with a 7nm class Exynos 9825 octa-core (2.7 GHz x 2 + 2.4 GHz x 2 + 1.9 GHz x 4) CPU same as we saw in the Galaxy Note10 series. It is a powerful processor and can handle power-guzzler games such as Asphalt 9 series games without any hassle. It is backed by Mali-G76 MP12 GPU, Android 11-based One UI 3.1 6GB/8GB LPDDR4x RAM and 128GB (UFS 2.1) storage.

As far as the battery is concerned, it comes with a 7,000mAh battery with a super-fast charger (25W) in the retail box. With such a big cell, it can easily last two full days under normal usage. This definitely curbs the battery shortage anxiety among users when they travel long distances without a power bank.

Camera:
Samsung's Galaxy F62 house a quad-camera-- 64MP (with Sony IMX682 sensor, f/1.8) + 12MP 123° ultra-wide angle sensor (f/2.2) + 5MP depth sensor (f/2.2) and 5MP macro sensor with f/2.4 aperture. On the front, it comes with 32MP (f2.2) selfie shooter.

As you can see from the photo samples, it takes decent photos in the sunlight. But, more tests have to done to see how Samsung's new phone fares in the other lighting conditions.
