Chief Minister B S Yeddyurappa, on Thursday, declared that the party will carefully pick opposition MLAs willing to crossover to the BJP.

Addressing the party MLAs at his official residence soon after winning the trust vote he claimed that many MLAs in JD(S) and Congress are keen to join the BJP.

“History of sorts”

Earlier, addressing the media, Yeddyurappa slammed Opposition parties - the Congress and JD(S) -  for attempting to destabilise his government and added that he had created “history of sorts” by winning the trust vote for a second time in a gap of three days. “I hope sanity will prevail and elected representatives will uphold the dignity”.

As per the Constitutional requirement, a government need not seek the floor test within six months after winning it on the floor of the House. “Without resorting to the path of confrontation and on the advice of the BJP high command, I accepted the directive by the Governor to prove the majority of my government for the second time,” he added.
